  • For over 20 years, Kimberly Graham has represented low-income defendants, including abused and neglected kids and parents, in our criminal and juvenile courts.

  • For the past 4 years, Kimberly's been the attorney for kids of participants in the Polk County Recovery Court program, listening to young people and advocating for them when they have been removed from their home.

  • As Polk County Attorney, Kimberly will use her formidable advocacy skills and extensive experience representing both adults and kids to create thriving communities and reform the justice system for Polk County's nearly half a million residents.

The Power Of prosecutors

Check out this video from the ACLU to learn about the power of County Attorneys in our justice system

As Polk County Attorney, my office will :

  • Start prioritizing prosecution of violent, serious crimes, like gun violence, homicide, sexual assault and more, over low-level, non-violent offenses.

  • Start treating drug addiction and mental illness as public health issues. We can’t incarcerate our way out of drug addiction.

  • Start listening closely to all victims of crime, because their voices are too often ignored.

As Polk County Attorney, my office will:

  • Stop requesting cash bail for non-violent, low-level offenses. This will help end racial and income disparities.

  • Stop unnecessary prosecution of kids and keep them out of the system whenever possible with literacy-based diversion and restorative justice programs.
